Hi there,

I'm just working up ideas on a new build. I've already got an FN SPR that I use mainly for range work and wondering about either re-barreling that action or selling it and building from scratch.

Any experience of using these actions for a custom build good or bad?

I take it the FN SPR is based on the Win 70 pre-64 action?

I've got a similar build planned (when the time is right) of putting a heavy Douglas barrel on a pre-war Win 70.

I built my .280AI on a pre-64 and it's functioning perfectly. However, don't expect to end up with a light rifle.

Yes it is. A new built one but the same pattern.
