Just to pass this around, today we got a letter from Kent police to warn us a web site from Isis tells terrorists how to obtain guns. They tell them to find local gun shops etc. Be on the look out people you never know where or if they might target you.

Or anyone buying cars.

or lorries.

or kitchen implements

or garden tools

or booking a driving lesson.

The idea that Daesh may be targeting UK gunshops above the 97,000 other insane death cult things that may have popped up on their 97,000 insane death cult websites, when there are a trillion other instant and far easier and more effective ways of inflicting far greater horrors than by nicking a 12b or a bolt action rifle, is, I suspect, anti-law-abiding-gun-owner-propaganda picking out one thing that chimes with their agenda, blowing it out of all proportion or likelihood and putting it about as a cherry-pick 'horror' in order to 'be seen to do something' as well as leverage the situation in order to further their own political agendas.

Add to that, a little frisson of excitement felt by some people rather liking the thought that their shop or club is now somehow on the front line in the GWOT...

Best not to propagate such paranoia and silliness, lest you want to support that propaganda by repeating it sufficiently that it becomes 'fact'.

By the by, today, twice walked past the spot where Fusilier Rigby was murdered. Car and knife was the vile reality.

Nice to see the intelligence services are on the ball. We'd never have thought of looking for guns at, say, a gun shop or gun club !

The intelligence sevices are on the ball, and I sincerely doubt that they have even remotely flagged this as high probability or high effect to anyone. (The intelligence services and Kent Police are not the same thing... don't people who think they're badgers know that?!)

Death-cult nutters after high effect, won't be wasting time raiding Burt's Tackle and Gunshop:

Neither a Beretta Silver Pigeon in 12b with scroll engraving, nor a Tikka T3 in 25-06 are Daesh weapons of choice.

According to the Sun newspaper a long while back, Carlos the Jackal learnt to shoot at our club!

The man who "did" or is it "didn't" shoot Gill Dando did actually apply to join however, long before the event. He was told not to come back after 2 visits from memory, On the application he said he was a stuntman for the territorial SAS LOL!

Of course this was years back when "good sense" and a good perspective of potential threats reigned!

1. Re-read the above. Nothing to add.

2. Holy Moley. Not sure that this should really be 'out there', but it is. The distances and timeframe within which these coppers orientate, get everything right, and drop the jihadis is incredible: http://metro.co.uk/2017/06/07/cctv-shows-moment-london-bridge-attackers-were-gunned-down-6693209/

I hope the guys who made the shots are not put through the "mill" and return to service.

They did an excellent job.

IPCC Deputy Chair Sarah Green said:

“We have all been shocked by the terrible events in London on Saturday evening and our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

"Following a referral from the Metropolitan Police in the early hours of Sunday morning, the IPCC has begun an independent investigation. The IPCC has a duty to investigate fatal police shootings and it is important to stress that we are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and no individual police officers are under investigation. We will examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of the three attackers and the gunshot wounds sustained by a member of the public.

"The IPCC and the Metropolitan Police are following agreed working arrangements related to terrorist incidents, which are working well. We are conscious that the police are conducting a dynamic and ongoing counter terrorism operation and we will ensure that our investigation does not impede that operation. The Coroner is being kept informed but it has been agreed that the police investigation takes primacy.

"Our investigators attended the scene at Borough Market and oversaw the post incident procedures early on Sunday morning where the officers involved provided their initial accounts. We can confirm that 46 shots in total were fired by eight police officers - three officers from City of London Police and five from the Metropolitan Police. We are examining CCTV footage from within Borough Market which we believe shows the majority of the incident relevant to our investigation.

"I recognise that this was a fast-moving and dangerous situation which the police had to respond to extremely quickly. This investigation is being given the highest priority and we aim to complete it at the earliest opportunity.”

i am not holding my breath with this one, as the IPCC are a law unto themselves.
