Well done West Yorkshire FLD

Variation form submitted Sunday at the Northern Shooting show stand, 7th May.

Got a phone call on Monday saying post my FAC in & it would be granted 8th May, I still dunno why they didn't take it Sunday...

Licence received back in todays post :-) 15th May, but processed & signed off 9th May.

So Royal Mail took 6 days to deliver it...

Im glad I dont have to put up with such shoddy service.

I posted a variation to Northumbria on a Monday, it was on the doormat again on the Thursday ;)

We are very lucky to get such quick turnarounds, I can't imagine what it would be like to wait 6 months or longer which it seems some people have to wait, I would probably have changed my mind on the caliber before I got it. :)

Ahhh...so it wasn't sitting in the departments' out-tray after all, ...waiting until they had enough certificates to make the journey to a post office worthwhile, or have to pay Royal Mail to have them collected only when there's enough of them processed to make the collection cost-effective, perhaps? - just a thought ;)

Well thats annoying when i called them they told me they were not doing them at the show and the advert was a misprint!!

WY weren't doing variations at the show. I asked why NY were & WY wasn't.... No answer but she said she would take it in for me if I completed it there & then :-)

btw the stall was advertised as "NY & Durham" no mention of WY... I had to ask if they were there...

It was dissappointing that NY can do variations on the day but other forces won't...

I had authority to purchase a .22 FAC air rifle and .22 moderator. As it turned out the gun i found and wanted was in .25 calibre.

I left a deposit after taking a long drive to get to the sellers location to view the gun. A very nice honest straight talking man. I then updated the seller a few days later that my variation from .22 fac air to .25 fac air would take around 2 weeks max.

I explained the situation to West Mercia Police Firearms Department as regards the deposit, and pointed out that i already had fac air with mod on my ticket, and just needed a basic variation change from .22 to .25. I was told that if i mark it as urgent i should receive it within 2 weeks maximum. Happy days!....

I finally received it back after over 4 months!! I chased them numerous times, only to be fobbed off. Ok they're very busy, and 1 man down. But if they knew that, why tell me 2 weeks!!

A totally Shi'ite service. And from hearing other similar stories in my local RFD, they are still just as bad!

Well Durham excelled themselves this week :o

Posted off Tuesday, told me they hadn't got it Thursday (even though it was signed for) and I got it back today!.

Well done, well apart from a few mistakes........................

I'd asked for three 1 for 1 variations, two for a rifle and moderator I sold and one for for an unused slot for a 22 LBP. They took off the rifle & moderator, left the LBP on and gave me the three variations I'd asked for anyway!.

I'd also sold another moderator and they haven't taken that off!.

They added a club I shoot with (as I asked) but also added one I'm no longer a member of and it had never been listed on my FAC previously!!.

Good news , I phoned in today to get an idea how much longer. Was told it has been completed and sent a day or two ago! Tidy, it's probably there at home but working away and will be back Friday evening. Happy days.
