LOS solid brass bullets

Does anyone here have experience of using and loading for LOS solid brass bullets? http://losmanufacturing.com/components/solid-brass-bullets/

Suggestions for a starting load for the 165 gn HT .308" bullet in a 16 inch long, 1 in 8 twist, barrel would be appreciated, ideally with Reload Swiss powders (due to availability) though Viht & Ramshot would also be considered. Brass will be GGG. Ranges will be 300, 600 and 1000 m

I did a bit of looking at these a bit back. It seems that there is very little friction within the barrel with these bullets as they run on the bands around them.

I read that the way to tune them was to increase loads steadily until muzzle velocity stopped rising. That was your max load. You could then experiment downwards to find your nodes.

Apparently, because of the low friction in the barrel, pressure signs probably won't be an issue with the correct powder for weight of bullet - as per most manuals.

I have some of bullets myself but haven't got around to playing with them yet. So........

PLEASE BE CAREFUL, do some research and see if some of the well learned folk on here chip in.

I'll follow this myself.

We weren't planning to use them on MoD ranges. It would appear that these bullets don't seem to have been much explored in the UK...

You may not know but Black Rifle is the distributor of these in the UK. We've sold quite a lot of them, but they're not supplied with any form of load data which does put some people off.
