njc110381
A question for those who know a bit more about this than me... What's the minimum thread size recommended for a .338 rifle? I want to fit a mod to my Win Mag and it's not a heavy barrel. Just wondering if I can get away with it or whether I'll need to cut it back a bit? It's the shoulder that will be the issue so specs on that would also be very much appreciated!
activeviii
Whats the measurement of end of barrel?
njc110381
Measurements for my barrel are 15.7mm at the muzzle, 16.1mm measured 17mm from the muzzle (I think that's how far the cut goes back including the relief?). Going back 25mm (cutting an inch off in old money) only gives 16.2mm/16.4mm. Going back 50mm gives 16.5mm/16.7. I was hoping that would allow an M15x1 but it would appear not?! Blue Haze
A 16mm barrel on a .338?! Think I need a pic of that one :-) Never seen anything like that before.

njc110381
I haven't had chance to take a decent photo of mine. This is the rifle on the Ruger website, although it appears the biggest they chamber it in now is .300 Win Mag... http://www.ruger.com/products/HawkeyeStandard/models.html
Edinburgh Rifles
Measurements for my barrel are 15.7mm at the muzzle, 16.1mm measured 17mm from the muzzle I was hoping that would allow an M15x1 but it would appear not?! Why not? appears you have 0.7mm to play with
