I've read,but not entirely believed statistically, Adam Macdonald's rather persuasive case for .02 being good enough....."Automatic Powder Trickler" (needs lab grade Sartorius scale,of course). Steve- maybe 'perfection' isn't really needed...1 Kernel(varget) is about 1fps, or .035 moa at 1000y ( and that does assume absolute perfection in all other variables). Salazar and Macdonald make for a good thoughtful read,on a quiet Sunday. Swarovski1 Posted December 4, 2016 Report Share Posted December 4, 2016 It gets my vote from its no messing after loading, ive recently been looking at the lyman gen 6 but when you watch video on what you have to do the clear powder isnt worth it,if you only used one powder then it would be fine, it needs a far better system before I would buy one.i really like the electronic type scales but most serious shooters seem to doubt them as they can waver.as mentioned on another thread everything has tolerances.i used the rcbs starter scales since I started reloading approx 15 years ago, not sure what model they are, I recently chronied some loads that varied 4fps, I pinch and roll fingers letting kernels go, trickling isnt in my reloading system, I have got one but its an ornament.you have got to learn to trust these electronic gadgets, I will get one sooner or later as I am beyond bored of the beam scale. It does look a really good and accurate set up but its the price of the Sartorious 503GD scales which is the killer and makes me wonder if the price makes it better than my tuned scales and target master? John MH Posted December 19, 2016 Author Report Share Posted December 19, 2016 Tested a batch of ammunition loaded with the A&D Fz120i and Autotickler today. 55 shots fired, first 5 shots were bore fouling shots followed by 50 shots fired over a Magnetospeed chronograph at a rate of 1 shot per minute. Brass was once fired GGG, annealed, F/L sized in a Whidden Die with .221 expander. Primers were Murom KVB 223 and powder was 23.6 Grains (1.530 g) of TR140. Should have been with the TNT driver today when he picked the faulty ones up but it didn't happen! They've assured me it will be here tomorrow. The trickler is a very very well made piece of kit, hope it works as well as it looks.
