Only in America? ..Meopta

Hi all

Anyone know if the 'new' 6.5-20x50 Meopro's are available in, or even to, the Uk? (yet)...or am I mistaken and these have been available in the USA/Canada for ages?

Can see them listed on Meopta's USA & Canada website but, they're not listed on Meopta's worldwide site. I know they got a USA plant where they assemble and what not but, surely the USA and Canada are not that exclusive, are they? ..Czech plant hopefully producing these for the rest of world market?

Cheers

I always understood the 6.5-20x50 zeiss conquest was built by meopta. My favourite lightweight scope. After Zeiss moved to newer models it is nice to see this one being made again. Turrets turn in the right way, 1" tube and lighter than the newer conquest scopes.

Years back at an IWA show I asked at the Zeiss stand why the only really interesting scope they make is not allowed in Europe.... up to now the two 6.5-20x50 scopes I have are the only Zeiss products I own.

Ah yes, cheers for that, ejg....Skipped my mind that the Conquest glass was produced by Meopta... Not so 'new', after all then - top quality, nonetheless thumbs-up-smiley.gif

Just had a peek at the reticule - windmax could be useful in variable winds instead of dialling back and fourth . Like a milldot i suppose :)

Yes gunner...and if I recall correctly the BDC and Z-PlexII reticles of the Meopro seem finer, hence better than the marginally bolder crosshairs of the Conquest for the longer range target shots? ..decisions, decisions
