Montey
Might seem od to post this but its fact last year my foxing partner and I had our hand full, the farmer had lost 33 lambs we shot 1 to 3 foxs a night 7 days a week . We used the Drone Pro backed up with the 38s thermal on my Dolphin Guns 223 while J used his Sako 22-250 with the N870. This year my tally has been 1 and J 22 with not one lamb lost we agreed tonight its safe to say the lambs are bigger enough to say job done . I'm giving us a thumbs up for fox control! Xtrema
Well done. I know my own efforts around my way has had a positive impact on lamb survival. With fox numbers being what they are these days, they are being replaced as fast as i can shoot them however. It would be different if all land owners allowed shooters to destroy foxes on their land; maybe then numbers would be reduced to a more manageable level. banus02
xtrema,I manage deer and vermin NOT FOXES on a 3.5 thousand acre estate and I can not shoot the foxes by order of the land owner.the estate is bordered on all sides by game shoots and I see foxes on a daily basis and they are a nightmare ,they kill lots of deer fawns and ground nesting birds but the land owner does not shoot and LIKES to see the foxes as they control any rabbit problem. .arable farm no sheep
Montey
The thing about this farmer his family has always been a foxing hunting family heavily involved with the hunt ( same as my self) now post ban he is not going too except any loss of lambs were before shooting foxs on his two farms was Strictly restricted. Xtrema
One of my shoots is an 800 acre "Gentleman's" estate where i'm not allowed to touch foxes due to them being keen fox hunters. I have a free hand with the deer however.
rsc1960
22 this year so far on 2 farms 3 golf course and a 5000 acre site.(not sure what the others have shot but its bound to more or less the same as myself) had seven cubs and 2 vixens just last Wednesday night using the FoxPro spitfire with fox jack 2 this dragged the pups in like nothing I have seen, 20 tactical and a drone pro using a small compact hand held lamp for spotting, so far not bad but we have seen a few more since and I am out tonight, I also picked up a load more land ( 6.700 acres and the land owner has asked to have as many foxes removed as the birds are now being placed in the pens. bring it on, bob. A pheasants are out and so am I, I had 4 in one night last weekend and I'm out tomorrow night again, drone pro on the 20 tac, I was working today and watched a load of sheep scutter off up the field on my left, I then witnessed a mahoosive badger run from the main drive across the field that the sheep where running in and he went like stink right into the edge of the opposite wood, not that strange you may say but this was at 2:37 this afternoon, not seen a badger do this for many years, Bob. We see them all the while, got six or seven earths with a mile or so. A few weeks ago I shot a fox that was in the same beam as a badger.
