The Gun Pimp
With just over a month to go (30th May Bank Holiday Monday) may I take this opportunity to remind UKV shooters of our Egg Shoot. I think everyone knows the rules by now - there are very few. The shoot is modeled on the American Hickory Egg Shoot - there was a write-up on 6mmBR.com on their Daily Bulletin on April 7th. You can still access it. Just turn up at Diggle by around 9.15am on the appointed day.

The Gun Pimp
Just one week to go to the Great Diggle Egg Shoot guys. Enter on the day - turn up for around 9.15 am on Bank Holiday Monday. Shooting at 100, 300, and 500 yards. 10 rounds only required but, a full day's shooting with some great banter. All entry fees returned as prize money - awards for small group at each distance, top overall scores and of course £100 for breaking the egg. The rules? There are none - any rifle, any sights, any rest, any cartridge (up to 338LM). BUT no sharing rifles and one rifle must be used throughout the comp. geek
For anyone who has not tried this before, it is a great day out, good fun, plenty of banter; my son and I were in the butts doing the marking last year. Hopefully there will be good weather?

Swarovski1
I cant recall what rifle and calibre won the eggshoot last year but I dont think it was a race gun, probaly just a semi custom, there seems to be a very thin line between them, probaly more a confidence thing, this year it would be nice to have a photo of the winning rifle as it our kind of porn lol
gbal
Neil, while I see the fun component,a one off shot that isn't replicable does not carry much information-far better look at the 500 y targets-now if the winning egg shot was also getting a decent 500 score, that shows a whole lot more. Of course,it's £100 for the egg,and that isn't quite a raffle (if above/similar holds_occasionally it does,so means something). Your 3 shot group is in this category, maybe not the egg,but 'better' than a one off luck shot that did, just not so lucrative. No harm in a photo, though almost any of the rifles could oblige the 'porn' deprived. If 6BR (for example) won more ofen than others, over several shoots, that might tell us something-but a factory 308 with a one off hit.......doubtful if that would be a game changer.... :-) Fun,yes. Informative-generally not-compared to the groundhog scores, especially aggregated. g gbal
