Hi all , just thought id post some of my and phils ( activeii ) results from today in the field . Phil had invited me today to have a go at crows / magpie / pigeon etc - hell i didn't need asking twice lol , he was doing load development on his new RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor which looks very nice and is shooting pretty well , hopefully he can post a pic or 2 of our setup , we left at noon , set up in a nice area next to a small stream , overlooking the field we were in we had 400 yards plus 2 more fields behind that that conveniently banked up steep up to a medium sized wood , we had potential for 850 odd just off to the right of that wood . I had the first shot as just after weed set up i spotted a pair of magpie , this was a little optermistic as it was a clean bore and a long way 736 y , wind was around 5mph switching , twice i called off the shot because of wind , then a minute later it was straight at us , game on ! I dialled 18moa an sent it , i missed low but it was soo close - never mind .

After this phil had been plugging rounds downrange at 200 doing a coal seating test , i was spotting for him and helping take the chrono results . Then another shot presented itself ! 2 carrion in the banked field in front of wood , i ranged 1 @ 525 yards , id dialled already and 1moa for wind but it switching and again came straight at us , dialled back to zero wind and shot , this time the 105 amax hit its mark - luvlee jublee that put a smil on my face , had 3 or 4 more shots , i missed a crow and pigeon in a low tree at 386 odd , but did manage 1 magpie close to wood edge , 609 yards , wind was slightly L to R , dialled - got it ! The practice on gongs with phil is paying off and im just loving my fairly new 6br , hopefully phil will have his creedmoor plotted and can then join in and not let me get all the shots - Thanks for the invite :) when your free ill take you to my valley shoot - great crow territory ... Atb

Not a bad day. learnt a few more bits about the Creed. .54moa at 200 yards from a factory barrel, acceptable? Im starting to thing this is the way it might be.

I did have a pop at your dead crop, 525 and i was under by a fraction. the bird jumped in the air 2 foot and considering i just took book G1 .610 and then 2526fps only then to put two rounds back on the 200 yard target only to find i was 1/2" under the bull. i think there was my error. i will know next time.

great day, great company. what more do we need.

Oh! i know, Another photo of my creed

Phils been using n150 in his creed, i cheaked a few powders on QL last nite whilst on phone to phil , what a surprise varget looks a very good powder for the 140s , as i got a few tubs the other day i can spare 25-30 rounds worth to him to try out in the creed , im also going to pay for a box of sierra as a thank you me old fruit bat for the last couple of invited outings ! Also , Is anyone using a creed ? And whats the best powder you had experience with ? We know h4350 is raved about but reloader 17 looked very good on QL too-, Atb

Phil, I see I'm not the only one using the Leapers/UTG Twist Lock mounts :)

How do you find them?, I have them on 3 Sightron scopes, 2 8-32x56 and a 10-50x60, I have to say I've found them to be rock solid.

Given the ridiculously cheap price I've got a few more sets on my next MidwayUSA shopping list :)

I don't need presents to say thanks buddy, just getting out is good. Kind thoughts but not needed.

H414 looks interesting as well as the R17, better speeds with less pressure and 100% burn. I want to be in the 2700 area.

The h4350, according to QL, isn't the best powder, maybe the best American but not the beat available.

I will look into the R17 data a little more and for availability.
