gunner
Looking to get a new RF soon my bushnell elite 1500 is struggling past certain distances , its served me well and ill keep as backup . This is the model im prob going to get crf 1000 R , iv seen a certain shop has them priced around 370 odd , other places have them for around 100 quid more . The main question to anyone who has this perticular model what is the max range to ?? it says 1500 on some shops description . Ill probably only use it to 1000 on gongs anyway so doesn't matter if it didn't do 1500 ! Anyone got this one ?
AnthonyR
I have a Leica CRF1600 I would be willing to sell if you are interested, excellent nick, not very old. The more powerful the laser the better IMO, more likely to range small targets even well below the theoretical maximum.
gunner
Hi Antony , i say i didn't realize that would be a more powerful unit but suppose it needs to be , its for ranging crows and foxy to pretty far so the more powerful the better , thanks for offering yours but decided to stick to buying new . Cheers tim

Murph
Christmas came early just ordered the 1600b leica and some zeiss terre ED 10x25s - happy days You won't be disappointed with the 1600b. I have one myself and find them to be a completely different caliber of rangefinder than my old 1000 yard bushnell which had trouble reading past 600 yards. You will love the leicas. Best of luck with your purchases.
gunner
Thanks murph , the RF i love the fact it gives you the incline in degrees , that will be a great help on the longer steep shots on my valley shoot ! And god its tiny ! One happy bunny . Another bonus i compared my old bins to new ones ( old 10X42) - new (10x25s compact ) the feild of view is wider on the new ones ! But they obviously have smaller objectives ! Sweet
bewsh
the cheap ones are known to only accurately range to around 1/2-2/3 of their advertised range from what I see on Youtube reviews I have an older model LRF1200 that happily ranges past that on vertical reflective targets I have also ranged well past 1000yds on hillsides with no real obvious reflective target Leica is the best in the market for LRF's would love a 1600B

I've mine programmed to suit my Sierra 69gr tmks. You point at anything out to 500 yards and it tells you the amount of clicks. I've used it for foxes at night. My longest to date is 350 yards. The red display on these are really good for night viewing.
bewsh
I bit the bullet and picked one up One thing though, the choices for drop data don't match my 300wm loads which is a shame as that is what I use past 800yds

gunner
Tubs mate hi , just before i got mine i spoke to someone about purchasing one from SGC , they dont keep them in stock apparently and wait until they have probably several orders from different people then get a small batch sent over - must be cheaper than single units . So you could be waiting week - or they told lies but give em a go... But i dont use them anymore as iv had so many fu(k ups from them over years ! Be warned . So i got mine from uttings at slightly more but in stock and came next day . Bewsh , bet your going to say u got em from "them" and prove me wrong , glad you got some . Its a shame ballistic adjustment doesn't match , mine didn't either for the 6mmBR , the main feature for me was incline in degrees , best of luck with them you won't be dissapointed ... gunny ... Absolutely appalling service on anything that's not to hand/in stock.

Absolutely appalling service on anything that's not to hand/in stock. What put the final nail in the coffin was ordering and paying for a night force direct one piece mount for a remmy action. I had a call a week later to say its not in stock and would be a few weeks.9 months later I'd had no answers , no reply to emails , so physically went to Exeter to get a refund of £260 quid . wa#£ers !!!
