Guest Stacka
hi guys, Been offered a WMR for the price of a barrel of beer. It's a CZ in .22 WMR. What's the calibre like, and what's the 100yard ability? Basically all I want it for is a bit of clubbing whilst the nights are short. Cheers, T

drum
I have shot a cz 22wmr for nearly 20 years, and to be honest wouldnt buy another. The ammunition is getting too pricey now ,and not many shops in this part of the country stock it.But saying that it is quite hard hitting out to 100 yards or maybe a little more,so long as the wind isnt blowing can be reasonably accurate .On a good day mine can hold an inch at 100 yards but any wind and its best to leave it at home.I run the hornady bt's in mine but the 40 grain hp's get the most out of the calibre ,the 30 grain loads really leave a lot to be desired at 100 yards. Also the last batches of hornady vmax i got had the same split neck problems of its 17 hmr cousin.Have shot fox out to around 100 yards and have been happy with the terminal effects though shot placement is critical and with any wind at all this becomes quite difficult to guarantee.Certainly, in my opinion, it kills fox size animals cleaner than the 17 hmr ,and i do have both, but as i,m sure you know there are better tools for the job. Offroad Gary
Just use your 22-250 and give me the barrel of beer
swagger700
I've got one for cubs and shoot a few hare's at back end of year. Mines a ruger 77 22 use 40 grain Winchester hollow points they stop stuff. shoots well out to 150 yards have some remi ballistic tips but not tried em. Agree about the price of ammo but don't fire that many picked rifle and scope up for £195 bargain !! It's a good little caliber for certain jobs
bewsh
I have a Sako the WMR was my go to urban fox rifle for golf and rugby clubs for years no idea how many I have shot, lots, all within a 120yds I would say accuracy is like any rimfire...ammo dependant regardless of rising ammo costs it is still well under any centre fire round. I paid £15 a 100 last time for 33gr Reming Accu-tip it will shoot ragged holes at 100yds, never been too worried by wind as you will be shooting under the 150yd mark will drop a fox to a boiler room shot, might make it a few yards but my longest runner was around 20yds moved to a .222 when all the stupid ones had been shot and i wanted a dual purpose deer and fox round still use it fun to shoot
Sixpointfive
I've been using a Wmr for a while now, settled on the hornady 40 grain v max For a rimmy it's a hard hitting little round, good for foxes out to a hundred with ease. Shoots half inch groups all day at a 100 yds, only round my weihrauch doesn't like is the Remington 30 grain Shoots tight and straight, nice little rifle ATB 6.
cervusman
I to use Remington 33gr Accu-tip in my Ruger and get ragged holes at 100yds. The Remington 33gr V-max shot the same as the Accu-tip which is handy.
