does any one have any comments on the above rifles....good or bad.

Looking for a cheapish light stalker and these popped up but not heard much about them.

Cheers,

I've got an M77 MK2 in .243, build quality is good, mounting system is very good and solid but restrictive on scope size. Triggers are heavy but can be worked on, bedding can be awkward due to the way it fixes into stocks. They do have nice lines and come into the shoulder well and appear natural to point, they make nice lightweight stalkers, I don't use mine much but thats more because I have a .22-250 and a .308

Had a Ruger years ago, would have one again without worry. Reliable, accurate and reasonably priced S/H. The Mark 1 have decent tang safeties as opposed to three position, which some find better in the field.

Last year had a Browning TCT A bolt.... The spawn of the devil!! The thing wouldn't shoot for toffee and wouldnt feed to save its life. On paper, it should have been fantastic, super short action, heavy fluted 1 in 8" twist, B&C stock.... I'll never have another.

+1 on the above,

I have a mate who runs the a bolt, fine rifle but he does have a problem with feeding, he has worked on the mag a bit but every now and again it plays up, shoots vey well and is a nice rifle overall.

I have a redundant 243 set up and as I have just placed an deposit on a 6.5/47 I'll let you know how that pans out

stacka, these are both medium grade stalking rifles, certainly a step down from Tikka/Sako class in price.

A light stalker at these prices can't be expected to deliver unerring sub 1/2 moa,but some might-they would then be a good second hand buy-and have some advantages (mainly price, but well fit for purpose-especially as light carry rifles.

I would not consider one without test firing, but if ok,and £ is a factor, then OK.Actually,I'd be very reluctant to buy any rifle without a performance check, though a used rifle with a known and shown provenance of performance from a trusted source is usually a very good option. But in that category, also comes the used Sako 75,just a little bit better,by design-if available.I'm talking £600-how many shots do you want from your stalker's life?
