Cleaning a Jet Z

Recommended Posts

I just spray mine (both of mine actually...) with Wd40 as soon as they are off the gun and leave them to dry before storing. Had them for more than 1000 shots each and no problems...

Use a good quality gun oil in spray form such as break free clp , Brunox, Express etc etc. These have lubricating qualities.

WD40 has very little lubricant in it. Its a water displacer [ thats what WD stands for ]

Yes, WD40 is a mixture of White Spirit and mineral oil, with relatively little oil. It's seldom a good choice for anything firearm related.

I use a big spray can of Browning Legia oil, but as baldie says, almost any gun oil will do the job.

What do you guys do when you come in from shooting to clean yours, someone told me to drop it in diesel but it doesn't sound right. Atb Ed

Ed.

I did on one occasion wash an AU-S5 in petrol. It certainly removed some gunk but it was a pain to ensure all the liquid came out of the moderator. I have a Jet-Z, I have never cleaned it and don't intend to. I generally lay the moderator above a radiator or in the airing cupboard if its been out in the wet.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've had a cqb for 7 year on a 22 br Foxing rifle , I can

Never recall not spraying it with either Brunox or wd40 .

After only 1400 rounds through it ,it developed a tiny pinhole

Which would only of got worse i suppose , after getting a

Replacement last week I only hope it was a manufacturing defect

I'll be taking extra care this time watch this space

Ps like you john always airing cupboard or simlar before locked

Away...........cheers
