maltbuck
Good evening all. A question if I may:- Would a 125 grain Nosler Partition loaded in a 6.5x55, have the same ogive measurement if seated at the lands as a 100 grain Nosler partition seated at the lands. As both bullets share the same ogive profile, just the heavier head is longer overall i.e. Longer body and therefore would be seated deeper into the case than the 100 grain, when set up to touch the lands? Many thanks, MB
MrCetrizine
Yes, the ogive measurement is the same only the overall length varies. You do get some variation between spire point bullets and more round nose bullets but it's an artificial variation based on the inaccuracy of the measurement method. I thought as much, what made me have slight doubts was some errant figures when trying to check the 100s. Best regards, MB
snow white
I measured some 223 heads at rendom their was 5 tho difference in over all length so to do it weight you have to measure to the ogive to get it spot on.
