I can vouch for Kevin and all his kit is lovely, better than described, the bowers blueprinted action (sleeved bolt) is as tight and smooth as any custom action, badged as specialist rifle services, its an absolute gem. Shoots hole in hole. The tikka is absolutely mint.

A further note on this. When I was in the discussions with Steve Bowers that eventually led to the build of the 30-06AI in my original post above, he mentioned that the older Tikka 65 action (it is a long action) is highly prized as a base for custom rifles. We considered cannibalising the Tikka but dismissed this on the grounds that it would have been vandalism to chop about such a lovely condition and entirely original rifle.

I believe I am right in saying that Tikka was still a family-owned firm when the M65 Continental was built, and that they still did much by hand. After Sako acquired them, the accountants got involved....

I have owned the M65 for some 25 years and shot maybe 400 rounds through it. I am the second owner, the first being a collector who bought it new and never shot it.
