Fishnshoot
Just back in from a few hours lamping, had my mate and his boy in tow. Set off at half7 and to be honest thought we would have seen more, but apart from a few hares and a couple of roe deer vermin was pretty scarce. only seen 2 or 3 rabbits when I'd have been expecting to see enough to keep the hmr busy, but even at that none of the rabbits seen were in shootable positions or just disappeared as soon as the lamp went on them. So between flittings to different permissions we thought it was going to be a wasted night.... Not so! Arriving at the spot I shot the first one at the other night bright eyes were spotted. My mate set his boy up with his .223 and the wee fella let rip.... Thump!! Fox down! Bloody good shot it was too... I would say for a 12 year old, but that's playing it down. It was a good shot for anyone to make. A good nick vixen, Not surprised as I took a good dog from this spot the other night. So we carried on and two minutes further on more bright eyes. This time my mate got him self into position. Bang!................ Miss!,, yes he was a tad quiet on the way home!, I'll not bore you all with his excuses but you can probably guess..... As for me, I never even took my rifle out its bag tonight, I was just the chauffeur and light man. Ah well, my turn next night. Atb guys, and thanks for reading.
