gunner
Hi peeps , i was set on a m595 but now not sure ? Its just id read allot of customs had been built on these and bben really accurate , but now iv been offered a m590 ( thank you off road garry ) and theres an abundance of T3s going too . Dilemma , which would be best for a 6mmBR and be able to feed ? And ideally id get one with trigger and wooden stock then ditch barrel and get re-barrel and proper pillar bedding . And probably trigger fettle and lighten !
Finman
The M590 and the M595 are very similar if not identical. I have two rebuilds on an M590 and they are both sub .2' guns. I would do it again at a drop of a hat... Best of luck with your quest, Finman
NICK
I think the 590 has a smaller ejection port resulting in the top of the action not being cut away. Supposedly a more rigid action? Nick.
rsc1960
I have shot 2 6mmbr 1 in a 590 and another in a 595 both shoot sub moa at 100 yards all day long,we then went on to the 500 yard mark both using the same scopes brass and load/powder and heads etc, guess what, we both his targets out to 516 yards and I am off out tomorrow to do the very same thing with my mckillop m595 6mmbr, both built by Neil (dasherman on here) and as far as I can tell both actions are about the same, the flow flawlessly and both feed well with the 22,250 mags. I have a 3 shot and a 5 shot, crack on with the 590/595 you will not regret it. RSC ps: I would not touch a T3 even if you gave me it FOC.
Big Al
ps: I would not touch a T3 even if you gave me it FOC. Can I ask why exactly? I have a 595 donor waiting but was very close to going T3 instead it just happened a good deal on a 595 came along. Gunner, I considered a 590 and from the info out there there are no differences other than the ejection port, stocks and triggers interchange. I would have bought a 590 but the 595 came along first. Again from what Ive read the 22/250 mags feed the BR case very well.

Jagged 77
The T3's are good actions but have positive and negatives to consider. On the negative: no recoil lug, small cross section, one size fits all. On the plus side the trigger is excellent (especially with one of Baldie's springs fitted), and the action is silky smooth, they also have a nice flat top action. Feeding from an AICS floorplate conversion is the slickest I've come across. Also a good amount of aftermarket stocks and chassis available too. triggersqueezer
nowt wrong with t3 actions.dave built me a 223 on one that shot as good as i could.the new owner has gone on to win benchrest matches i believe.also barnard do a trigger for the tikka which is very nice.i must admit i would go custom action if you could stretch to it ,any extra spent will be re gained when sold . DW58
I would not touch a T3 even if you gave me it FOC. Awaiting justification of this comment. Other than the lack of integral recoil lug I can't see any other major issue.
baldie
I,ll take T3,s in front of ANY of the other Tikka actions. Why ? Because you can get parts for them, and they will happily take a floor plate system. Absolutely no difference in the way they shoot.

Raifuru
I was not a fan of the 595s for a 17 build as I kept blowing the claw of the bolt. Made for interesting conversations whilst out lamping.
gunner
Looks like im getting 'off road garys' tikka 590 in 22-250 for a re-barrel to 6mmBR , i know its near identical to 595 but i prefer the smaller ejection port / if only it was on the left . Now the plan is have that magic dasherman work his err magic lol ! Also as soon as its all done im going to make a stock for it as long as i can accuratley cut / copy the inlet . Its the under side thats worrying me but im sure ill manage . Then hydro graffix will finish lacqour it / after its pillar bedded by niel , well this is the plan anyway ! I do believe one needs to customise a T3 to get the best out of it. edi
Ronin
Another +1 for the T3 Ive built several semi customs using the T3 as a base action and they make a superbly accurate rifle.
17 Rem
Interesting link, borden. I am bemused at why anyone thinks a rifle is better than another based on the number of after market parts available for it. You could argue that there are less add on parts available for the 595 because they got it right at the factory.... There is no T3 in my cabinet. tisme
Rifles are very personal things and people like to make them their own by changing them. After market parts make this easy and can make them better for the owners use. There's 3 T3s in my cabinets.
