baldie
Finished this lightweight last week. The customer wanted a lightweight carry rifle for his deer splatting exploits, so this was born from a donor rifle. The barrel is a Border cut rifled blank in 7-08 and a Tikka sporter profile. Forget the exact length , but I think its around 20" Screwcut 14mm x 1 and invisible capped. The action is std tikka and has a barley twist bolt and one of my Custom bolt shafts and knobs. The rail is again, one of my Stainless ones in 0 Cant. Floorplate is 3rd eye and has a 5 round magazine, milled and bedded in. Stainless screws machined up to suit. The stock is a McMillan Rem hunter , and is pillar and devcon bedded and it runs all the way through the stock making it extremely rigid in the entire action area.. Paintwork is Cerakote H series Graphite black. The trigger and safety catch have also been painted. The unit was stripped and tuned and now produces a lovely 1/2 lb pull. Chris-NZ
Classy as usual Dave. Nice compact rig, would suit the mountains here. What's its all-up weight? I needed a five shot mag the other day when we ran into five hinds. Got three which was probably one too many. Have talked the boss into another small chest freezer as the sea fishing hasn't even started..

Andrew
I'd be curious to see what kind of groups this rifle delivered compared against my stock T-3 Lite in 7-08. With a Zeiss 3-9X it doesn't quite reach the 7# mark on the scale.~Andrew
baldie
I think the new owner is a factory ammo kinda guy Andrew, i,ll be seeing him later so will ask. Its been purpose built for parkland fallow culling, so i doubt its ever going to get its legs stretched out too far.

Jono 4
Dave built me a 7mm -08 culling rifle last year, pics are on this forum, I really liked the gun, but it was built as a heavy weight fallow culling rifle as that was my need at the time, I can shoot thumbnail 6 shot groups off sticks with it, but my stalking has grown and I wanted a light weight foot stalking rifle to compliment the one I had, so I went to Dave to build it, collected it this morning, had it shooting 1/2" groups this afternoon with 140gn Federals, at the moment I don't have the time to homeload, I used to load all of my fowling cartridges so know how much I can improve things, but the Feds work for now, it will be used on all deer and foxes. Both rifles are fantastic and I'm really happy with them, great guy to deal with
