Dac9976
Hi Rick I use a 6mm BR for fox, long range bunny bashing, crows etc. 1-8 twist rate, 20" barrel using 87gr Vmax for vermin and 105 Berger VLD's for long range plinking. Great caliber:) Cheers Danny.

grumpy gary
Hi Ricky, I use a 6br for foxing and the occasional roe. It's deadly accurate and devastating with 87 grain v-max. It's also got more punch and longer legs than my mates 6ppc.

onehole
I use 6BR rifles only now as it just suits my needs for fox and rabbits and are economical to run.I have 12 and 8 twists,,,, 75vmax in the 12T and 105Amax in the 8T for longer range varminting....80g custom heads and 80g Berger Fb,s are benchrest standard accurate,,,,just stunning!!! and Berger 105 hybrids would be my choice if I were target/benchresting at 600 yards.I don,t shoot deer but many do and the horsepower is there for smaller deer certainly. 12T is 24inch tube and 8T is 27inch,,,,24inch gives easy 3300 with the 75g and an unstressed 2800 with the 8T on 105,s,,,,,more to be had if necessary but no need for my usage. Loads of choice for heads in 6mm and you can make the 8 twist run most of them,,,,,,an amazing little calibre!!!

ricky5042
Hi All Thank you for all your replies A 1-8 twist for sure I would like to shoot 900-1000 at bisley! is this a bit of a stretch for the 6br? What is the longest distance any of you have shot your 6brs? Will a longer barrel be better for distance with this calibre? Regards Rick

Big Al
Does 6br suffer from any feed problems?
gbal
6BR :superb small varmint (near PPC accuracy) fox, small deer (approaching 243 ,so marginal for big deer) Can be successful out to 1000y,but only in very good conditions.Nice to shoot helps. Limited choice of non custom rifles Magazine feed is not a problem, properly smithed. 1in 8 is flexible, will shoot 68 match bullets, but 80-105 seem best. Viht 133,135 (and others).Generally, not a fussy cartridge.Seems free of reloading issues.Usual barrel/velocity trade offs.Very decent barrel life. There is a good case for it as a 'do most of what most want most of the time' cartridge. gbal

Alycidon
30g!! well you really do surprise me,,,,I have a load of 130 which I was considering to use up on my 75,s but 120!! mmmmm I will look up some numbers tomorrow may play with 130 to see what happens ,,,I don't have any 120 but would probably not go there but if it works for you then carry on buddy,,,take care eh!! Anyone else got a take on 120? Yes, surprised the gun is still intact loading 30gr of it. What do the primers look like ?. I run a 6PPC, 29.5gr of N133 is bang on the money accuracy wise for about 3385fps moving 68gr Barts match bullets. I also run a 20BR with N150, that drives 50s at 3500fps with enough accuracy to beat dedicated 100BR rigs. Using Quickload my load for the PPC was way into the red zone, had to take advice from the builder before using it, that was the load he had worked up for it. My Vit manual lists nothing faster than N133, max load of N133 with a 77gr Scener is 31.0gr. Given the faster burn of N120 I would rate 30 gr of N120 to be about 35/36 gr of N133 if my experiments on the 20BR with N150, N160 and N550 are anything to go by. That in my book seems dangerous. Chris-NZ
Yeh, it's an amazing little cartridge. My gunsmith just started work on my son's one yesterday. It's having an 8 twist 26" Krieger. Comments on freebore appreciated. It'll be running both 87 V-Maxs and prob 105 A-Max at times. He said just seat the preferred bullet to where I want and he'll chamber to suit thanks guys.

A I run my PPC with almost exactly the same load, 29.5gr N133, fed 205m primers except I use a 65gr v-max.

If you spec a 80 thou freebore this will get you above the shoulder junction with 105 Amax and any lighter heads well placed in the neck without hanging out,,,,,,60thou FB runs a bit tight for the 105,s,,,,I,d go with an 80 next time,,,,O
