1st September again

Well we ended up on 249 foxes since 1st September last year our best year since keeping record for sure :) so we decided to get the shot guns out tonight for a change for a few geese and ducks ;)

Are there any specific reasons why this has been your best year so far Gaz?

 

Is it that you have more ground, or getting out more often, new gear etc etc, I'd be interested to know. Also, does it not bug you to be at 249 instead of a nice round 250! ;)

Lol we did laugh when we counted up to 249 but there you go, yes I'd say we picked up some more ground along the way. We are always out ruffly the same each year I'd say.

let me know how those canadas taste! :)

Been told to cook them real slow, so i diced some duck and goose breast up last night, and tonight I'm going to seal it in a hot pan then straight in the slow cooker with some sweet and sour peppers mushrooms and onions. Then in morning before work il put the slow cooker on it lowest setting and leave all day ;)

 

I will keep you posted, just hope there this years birds I took lol :) I think they was ha

I'm back there now with the rifle waiting for foxy, but I no what you mean about the geese there all over the place at the minute, I've seen a fair few tonight more than last night for sure.

Well they where real good, I diced some duck and goose breast up, why the mrs did fresh peppers,onions and mushroom. Hot pan sealed the meat then in the slow cooker, same with the veg than added some sweet and sour :)

I switched it on this morning about 6am and the lowest setting and served tonight about 6:30pm and the meat melted ;)

Then to top it off we cut a plum tree down the other day so the mrs made good use a nice plum pudding :)
