AlBur
Looking at an older BRNO .22 Hornet BA rifle. Understand from BRNO that the twist will be 1 in 16. Will this twist stabilise up to a 45 grain bullet or has anyone successfully used an even heavier bullet. Is the rifling suitable for .223 or .224 diameter bullets. Cheers Al. Hi, best to stick to 45gn and lighter, use ,224 cal bullets, if you are reloading small pistol primers and lilgun powder give very good results Regards Adrian
Remmy308
Hi,I've used 46gn Winchester hp in my .22 hornet which is a Brno fox mod 2 and it stabilised them perfectly.
Andrew
I shot 34 grain to 46 grain (Winchesters!) in my CZ Hornet. If you want 50 grain and up get a Triple Deuce.~Andrew

Andrew
I have shot 35/40 Vmax, 46 grain Winchester hollow points and 50 grains SPSX in my 1/16 twist, all with great accuracy. The 50's will shoot but the trajectory suffers a bit. BTW. I shot some V-Max 40's a while back per your recomendation. Very good stuff; very accurate over LIl Gun. Coincidentally, one of the local chain stores was closing out all their old-stock Hornady bullets in 250 round boxes (an unpopular quantity to sell in these parts, it seems) and had the 40 grain VM at their cost so i picked up another 750 of them to add to the 600 I had on hand. Fortunately, my 14" .222 Contender handgun also likes them. ~Muir
tisme
Not sure but I think you will have to modify the mag for 40 gr and over.
dylan5588
Not sure but I think you will have to modify the mag for 40 gr and over. Mag will take 45gn soft point and hollow points, the 40gn vmax are too long and mag needs a modification, to the back plastic spacer, or get a single feed "bobsled", brilliant little device will feed anything. `the 40gn vmax over 13gns of lilgun and a small pistol primer gave me 2950fps and cloverleaf groups @ 100yds in my CZ527 have had it rechambered to .22K Hornet and 13.5 gns lilgun now gives 3050fps and almost one hole groups with the 40gn vmax Adrian
