RBL type matches

All,

Would you like to see more of these kinds of matches, such as last weekends RBL match, spread throughout the year?

John, DaddyPig and myself have been talking today and feel there is room in our calendar for a couple or 3 more.

So what do you think?

Mark, John, DP,

Excellent idea, perhaps filling in the gaps in the CSR calendar, skipping the Imperial, gives a full year of 'rifleman' stuff :)

You are the guys putting in the effort so obviously, at your convenience, but a definite 'yes please?'

Although I was no able to attend the RBL Shoot due to prior commitments I would love to have the opportunity to attend one in the future! Yes please!

Great idea Mark.

I feel [ speaking for myself ] that matches like this are the way forward. Having shot most disciplines over the years, i tend to shoot CSR only these days. Spending all day to shoot 24 rounds at mcqueens, or being bored senseless laid on a mat, shooting F class or target rifle etc lost their appeal years ago.

It would also give use to a cabinet of guns.

Tactical matches that make you think, and are a true test of marksmanship , ie positional and timed , are , for me, far more enjoyable.

Each to his own however. :)

I would be more than willing to make another 4 trips south to Bisley to compete.

This is just it, lots of people have "tactical" guns and talk "tactical" etc, but there's plenty of shooting to be done and the plan is to encourage them.

Bisley for us is fairly central, easy to get to and are pretty accommodating to us.

The only real problem is fitting in the time to do all these wonderful things.

I'm sure TR and F Class etc do have their appeal...but I'd rather plait my arsehairs

Next time though I'd like to see people not turn up with permanently attached F Class bipods....you look daft standing and kneeling

The round house shoots and quarry shoots did that it's just a crying shame that it was spoilt and not well enough supported to continue. I'm all for this type of shoot especially if it runs similar to how the csr matches run as at least I know with being away I'm going to be able to make a minimum of a third of the shoots unless like a tool I break my ankle again!

Bradders, I think your spacial awareness needs recalibrating - Bisley? Central? For you soft southerners maybe. 350 mile round trip involving the largest car park in Europe for me and far more for other people. But I agree with Baldie, if the shoots continue along the lines of the excellent match John has just run then the travelling is worth it.

John, Mark, DP ( ;) )

Perhaps time 'with' a CSR weekend? it does 'bate the hook' a bit, makes for a whole weekend of shooting :) (also allows/enchourages others to give CSR a go)

Did people really use permanent attached bi-pods? Surely that falls under the 'failure to do right', or do folks just not get the spirit of things? :( Not a great lover of too many rules but........

John

I am in with a preference for May but can do March dependant on date chosen.

Idea of cost good when possible.

Any constraints of rifle type / calibre?....not HME of course!
