sako 75 .243
Out before first light this morning after wabbits, and this big fella came trotting up the ride!...He was in no rush snorting about for mice I think. The sun had just broke the horizon when I took the shot!...He fell to 20gn .17 hmr in the nut at 55yrds ...I was lucky that the slight breeze was in my favour as this was a wily old dog! Was surprised to the size of the old boy,so I made a quick call to the keeper as I could hear him out on his Gator,10 mins later we had him hanging from the scales......just shy of 29lb

Paddy_SP
Well done - that is certainly a good-sized fox! I've been after one this week that the farmer - who has been shooting since he was a kid and works with several packs of hounds, said was the biggest fox he'd ever seen in his life. It was supposedly bigger than his dog (a collie), which he'd never witnessed before! Fingers crossed that I manage to catch up with it...

Apex..if you shoot them in the head the ass dies instantly Agreed! Always amazed when people don't rate the HMR as a fox round - no it's not something I'd attempt a 300yd H&L shot but at sensible ranges it's a great round for general vermin (including fox!)
