Just a quick one,

Myself and HappyHunter met up after discussing a session out on his permission on Friday night, due to a phone call he received during the week. We had a problem wildfowl killer to deal with. It was going to be a NV job on this permission.

So after following Gaz6br on his spotter set up I had purchased a second hand bresser from the eBay and got one used twice and bought for 86quid. When I received it I put on my Ludicrous T20 (which are awesome) on a piccatiny rail and ready to rock and roll.

So back on track, I met at HappyHunters place and after having a brief look at all his collection of T3's, how many was it now!? :-) we headed out on a half hr drive to his small holding permission. On arrival we parked up and walked down the lane from holdings owners house. Stood on track and looked over a stretch of ground that was about 500yrds to main road and boundary, after a few minutes of scanning with both my spotter and Si's Pulsar N550 we hadn't spotted anything, then a minute after we heard a bark, Charlie...game on. We scanned the area and spotted an eye looking about from some rushes, couldn't ID clearly so we made our way in towards it. When spotted it was guestemated to be about 350yrds from track. We walked a good 1-150yrds into field and spotted every now and then. We had lost sight of it. After standing for a few minutes we scanned the field. Si had found it walking left handed from original position, this was it , by this time we watched it move left handed. I could clearly see it moving along a small track behind an fence and across a stubble field. I was made up with my new purchase. Think Si was impressed too. When both the T20's were looking at the fox it was like day light, awesome.

The fox headed off as we had moved try to get slightly closer to it, in an attempt to cut it off. After a quick scan we picked it up just about to disappear over a hill end. A quick mouth squeak saw it turn round and stare in our direction, that got its attention. Then it came running in, this is was it this Charlie was going down, we suspected this was the one we needed, so everything was still and no noise or movement, Si was already down ready to take the shot Charlie came running in and stood facing us on a knowl end smack, .223 let out a tune and the 50gr vmax (correct me if I'm wrong Si) fox down, on approach we were saying that this is the one that's been killing the fowl, we believed it to be a vixen due to the bark that it let out. How wrong we were it was a dog.

After a scan around nothing else appeared and we head off for an early night.

Would just like to say its great to be able to meet up with local folk from this forum and how friendly we all are. May we do more sociable things in un sociable hours with more members, many thanks Si for a great few hours and a good deed done. See you on Friday at my permission.

All the best

Really impressed with the bresser though pal, thanks for putting us on that one. Am going to sue the t20 66mm version on it when I get one.

Shame it's my weekend to work or we could of covered some real decent ground but problem foxes come first, one thing I did forget is just how wet the ground was down that way!

For the money that bresser is superb with the t20ir on the side, much the same as the Yukon ranger. At least you know it capable to a good 350-400yards.

At the furthest point when you first spotted eye shine it was just a yard or two off 390, once we caught back up with him and squeaked him in at 90yards he met 50grns of v-max, at the time of the shot I wasn't even sure if you were still on him James!

looking forward to Friday night unless anything comes up this way, was good to meet you James.
