Paddy_SP
Bearing in mind that I use mine more or less every day, my regime is to bore snake it every time it comes out of the cabinet. Other than that, it only gets a clean when it needs it. I do oil it regularly though.
Scotch_egg
I clean as per paddy. Unless I've been using RL10X which is so dam dirty. But gives great accuracy and velocity.

The idea of the boresnaking is to remove any white powder build up in the moderator - cleaning it before you put it away wouldn't help, as it takes several hours to accumulate. One issue to consider is that if a moderator is left on the rifle and left muzzle up,eventually some rather nasty stuff will gravitate down into the rifle barrel....I don't mean don't WD spray, just be aware that what goes in will come out.....dirty. Theres me thinking that bore snakes were only for rifle bores ! i suppose it would clean a moderator as well . but it prob wouldnt reach inside the chambers and would need stripping if possible ! then again im sure iv read somewhere to remove bolt and moderator and pull thru with some #9 or similar ! So you would have to use some kind of other cleaning method to do the chambers any way other than just a boresnake -atb tim..
V8 90
I Boresnake mine after each outing - I don't put many rounds through either of them - then give them a good scrub after 100 or so rounds (yearly)

It doesn't need to reach inside the chambers - what I'm concerned about is residue build-up in the bullet's pathway. Anything else can be removed with an ultrasonic tank. griffshrek
Funny enough gave mine a full clean and de-coppering yesterday , I will boresnake mine when it goes in/out the cabinet and every 300 odd rounds I de-copper. On a different note tried some M-pro 7 copper remover and worked well
